In conjunction with Women’s History Month, the Team USA digital team created “Women of Team USA Week.” In the second year of the campaign (2017), I programmed a week of social media takeovers with powerful female athletes on four @TeamUSA social channels. We used the hashtag #WomenOfTeamUSA during the week to connect fans with the athletes and the incredible stories they had to share.
During the Women of Team USA Week social media takeovers, Mar. 20 – Mar. 26, Team USA earned 636,676 engagements, up 83% from the same period the previous year.
The social media takeovers earned 2,379,767 engagements across social channels from Team USA, NGBs, and athlete profiles.
